The Jersey Liberal Conservatives (JLC) is the data controller for the personal information it holds about you.

Personal information

The JLC currently collects and processes the following information about you: Usage data, First name, Surname, Email address, Parish you reside in, as well as the type of support you have told us you’d like to provide.

We hold this information for the purposes of marketing communication, to alert you to upcoming events and to keep you updated on our progress and to analyse how you use our website.

We have the following subscription options:

JLC Newsletter SubscriberNewsletter; marketing materials; other electronic communications; event invitations.

JLC Supporters/Members/Donors – Documentation regarding your membership/donation; Receipts; Newsletter; Marketing materials; Other electronic communications; Event invitations.

Supporters/Members/Donors that do not wish to receive our newsletterWe will not send you any communications with the exception of emails relating to your subscription such as receipts and membership documentation.

How we collate information

We collect our information directly from you in our Support Us page and store in Mailchimp.

Under the Data Protection (Jersey) Law 2018, the lawful bases we rely on for processing this information is that we have your consent. You are able to remove your consent at any time. You can do this by contacting [email protected] or by updating your preferences on our preference centre.

What we do with the information we have

We use the information that you have given us in order to communicate with you and to analyse how you use our website.

How we store information

We keep your information until asked by you to erase it.

We use the following third-parties to process your data and deliver services for the purposes shown. All of these processors have access to some of your personally identifiable information as appropriate for the delivery of the purpose specified.

WordPress (USA) – Contact Information, type of member/donor, payment date and amount;

Mailchimp (USA) – Contact Information for announcements, newsletters other direct communication;

GoogleSuite – Information management, email.

Your data protection rights

Your right of access – You have the right to ask us for copies of your personal information.  

Your right to rectification – You have the right to ask us to rectify information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask us to complete information you think is incomplete.  

Your right to erasure – You have the right to ask us to erase your personal information in certain circumstances.

Your right to restriction of processing – You have the right to ask us to restrict the processing of your information in certain circumstances.

Your right to object to processing – You have the the right to object to the processing of your personal data in certain circumstances.

Your right to data portability – You have the right to ask that we transfer the information you gave us to another organisation, or to you, in certain circumstances.

You are not required to pay any charge for exercising your rights. If you make a request, we have four weeks to respond to you

Who we share your data with

We don’t share data with anyone. We may disclose your data to the police, regulatory bodies or legal advisers in connection with any alleged criminal offence or otherwise where required by law.
