We have set out below a framework outlining how we will deliver on our Values and Aims.

We will be Truthful and Transparent

We are committed to open and thoughtful communications with the public and the media and will work to regain the public’s trust in public office.

We will do this by:

• Disclosing information promptly and publishing documents in an easy to understand way
• Explaining the reasons behind our decisions
• Promoting open cooperation across sectors, stakeholders and within different government portfolios

We will be Accountable and Responsible

To increase accountability, we will focus on developing a culture of co-operation, especially with Scrutiny. We will be responsible for delivering on our manifesto policies.

We will do this by:

• Re-establishing accountability links within government
• Being transparent about the feasibility, risks and opportunities of large projects (such as the new hospital)
• Considering the value for money of projects, departments and appointments
• Evolving from a blame culture to a culture of (truly) learning from mistakes

We will be Fair and Tolerant

We are committed to preventing divisions in our society and we will implement strategies to provide equal opportunities for all.

We will do this by:

• Focusing on widening participation in public life
• Directly tackling discrimination and challenging prejudices
• Promoting knowledge and civic education
• Formulating policies designed to ensure fairness between all sections of the community so as to achieve equal outcomes

We will drive Purpose

Individual purpose is the motivating force that enables our collective success. It pulls us together and motivates us to do better and to work together.

We will do this by:

• Delivering policies that encourage people to work while valuing those who work hard
• Placing enterprise and innovation at the centre of everything we do
• Encouraging the adoption of the Jersey Living Wage
• Developing schemes that help Jersey residents on the path to home ownership

We will be Inclusive

Inclusivity is essential for maintaining social cohesion. It requires empowerment and the creation of equal opportunities for all; not leaving anyone behind.

We will do this by:

• Increasing social mobility through investment in technology and education
• Enabling life-long learning for continued personal and economic growth
• Rewarding merit, creating opportunity and empowering people to reach their potential

We will focus on our Environment

Conservation is at the heart of our ideology. The conservation of our environment is as important to us as any of our other aims. Our environment needs active long-term protection.

We will do this by:

• Developing policies and allocating resources that enable better protection of our environment
• Encouraging sustainability and self-sufficiency
• Developing an immigration policy that balances the size of our Island with needs of Islanders

We will defend the Rule of Law and our Autonomy

Eternal vigilance is the price of liberty. We will be vigilant.

We will do this by:

• Asserting and protecting the independence of the judiciary
• Making knowledge of our constitutional position more widely understood
